Partnership in Haiti
Relief and Recovery
On the evening of January 12th, a 7.0 magnitude earthquake unexpectedly hit the country of Haiti, 10 miles from the capital. Haiti was already a nation in need of great support and ministry as it is considered the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere with eighty percent of the population living under the poverty line. In 2008, multiple hurricanes hit Haiti, leaving over 1,000 people dead or missing and destroying sixty percent of the country's harvest. Now, a year and a half later, Haiti is experiencing another traumatic disaster with 3 million people in need of aid and a death toll of over 200,000. Highpoint will have a continuous partnership with Haiti in the years to come.
We are planning a recovery trip for medical outreach, personal ministry and evangelism and rebuilding October 18 through October 24. Whether your are a physician, allied health professional or simply someone willing to do whatever necessary to help out; people in Haiti need you! If you are interested in participating please submit complete interest form below and we will be in touch with you shortly. The cost of the trip will be approximately $1500. A passport will be required. Average time to get a passport is 6 weeks so get it now!
